Barbara was born to sing!  The ninth in a family of ten children, Barbara recalls singing in church since she can remember. "I used to stand in a chair and sing with my sisters," she says.

He dad was a Baptist minister.  Singing for the Lord has always been a part of Barbara.  Barbara's dream was to sing professionally.  Her dream came true when she joined the Original Lefevres in the early 1970s.  She traveled with them for a year.  She then joined the Blackwood Singers traveling with them for two years.  During her tenure with these famous gospel groups, Barbara was nominated for two Dove Awards, the first in the category of "Best New Talent" and the second in the category of "Best Female Vocalist."

Barbara later joined a female group called, "The Emeralds" traveling all over the United States.  Barbara and the groupmates sang as the background group for many country music artists both in the studio and on stage.

Barbara met her husband Jerry in September of 1980.  They were married in December of that same year and begin a full time ministry in evangelism in the spring of 1981. They have one daughter together, Rebecca Ann Roach Kaminski.
In 2006 Barbara signed a recording contract with "Morning Star Records" out of Goodlettsville, Tn and began a new solo ministry with the Legendary Producer Mr. Eddie Crook.  Eddie and his wife Janice have known Barbara since the 1960s.

In 2007, Barbara began working with Eddie Crook as video coordinator for the "Jubilee Homecoming Events" which were put together as a way of helping area artists have a chance to be a part of something similar to the "Gaither" Videos.  You can view video clips on this media site.

Hard trials came upon this family in March of 2006 as their daughter was persuaded to run away from home.  This was a time of faith being tested in a very real way.  Prayer took on a deeper meaning.  Barbara begin writing devotions, and working on a book about her life and ministry in 2007.  Just as the book was ready for the printers, she felt a nudge to pull back, God was not finished yet.  Since then, she is still waiting for His timing to release the book, "Seasons Of Grace."

Through all of this time of struggles, God made Himself clear to Barbara to carry on her singing ministry.

Once again Eddie and Janice Crook spotted a talent in Barbara and encouraged her to start a booking agency and radio promotions company.  She could still travel and sing, but this would give her a better way to help others in ministry. Today that business is called, "Jubilee Music Artists." Barbara is CEO and President of this company.

In February of 2009, the Roaches under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, made a move to  Franklin, North Carolina to pastor a new start church with eleven members!  Today, the church has more than doubled in membership and God is working.

In July of 2009, their daughter Becca and her husband Ryon moved to Franklin so they could be a part of the ministry,” said Barbara.  Now, Barbara and Becca have just recorded a new project “Pieces” featuring a song written by Barbara called, “Putting the Pieces Together.”  This album features four original songs written by Barbara.

Barbara has been writing songs since age 14.  This past year she co-wrote a song with Dr. Tracy Dartt called, “One Nation.”  This song was recorded by “Blue Ridge” out of Franklin, North Carolina  went to number 35 in the National Singing News Top 40 Chart.

Barbara enjoys singing, speaking, and traveling with Becca when they can, but the main thing is working with Jerry in the Pastorate at New Life Church of the Nazarene.

Biblical Answers to our Questions when we’re Hurting

“And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.  Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.  (Hebrews 4:13-14) NKJV

*Does anyone know?

Who am I, where I am, and what I’m dealing with? Even in church, it seems like everyone else has it together. Is anybody aware of how I’m hurting?  Hebrews 4:13 tells us that no one is hidden from God’s sight.  Read Psalm 139.  The Psalmist makes it clear that God is intimately acquainted with us even before we were completely formed in our mother’s womb.  Jesus would remind us that our Heavenly Father even knows the number of hairs on our head.  Sometimes it gets so dark that we wonder where is God.  That’s where Job was in all his suffering.  He couldn’t see God anywhere in the darkness of his pain.  But then Job declared, “But he knoweth the way that I take: when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” (Job 23:10)

                                Thoughts for the Week

“ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
                                                                        (John 3:16) NKJV

*Does Anyone Care about me and my pain?

Years ago, I read a story about a little boy whose father had died while the boy was too young to remember his dad.  There was a large framed picture of the father that hung on the wall of the boy’s home.  One day someone entered the room where the boy was crying and speaking to his dad’s picture.  He said, “Father, they tell me that you loved me so much.  If you could just step down out of that picture and put your arms around me and tell me yourself.”  Isn’t that what our Heavenly Father has done in Christ Jesus?  He came down from Heaven, went to the cross, and stretched out his arms and by doing so declared, “This is how much God cares!”  (See John 3:16)
Hebrews 4:14-15 tells us that same Jesus has ascended back to Heaven and is our great High Priest.  He’s interceding (caring) for you.  He’s not unreachable nor untouchable.  He is touched by what touches you.  What hurts you hurts Him.  He understands when we are tempted, when we are weak, even when we cry out in the darkness,” My God, why….?” (Matthew 27:46)

                              Thoughts for the Week

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.  (Hebrew 4:16) NKJV

            *Can Anyone Help Me?

Hebrews 4:16 tells us that there is “mercy and grace to help in time of need.”  The Living Bible paraphrase of Hebrews 2:18 says, “Since He Himself has now been through suffering and temptation, He knows what it’s like when we suffer and are tempted, and He is wonderfully able to help us!”

God wants to help us!  That’s why He gave us His Son Who is at the throne of grace praying for us.  That’s why He sent the Comforter, the Holy Spirit Who also is interceding for us (Romans 8:26) That’s why He gave us the Bible, which is filled with invitations to come to Him!

I’ve seen the bumper sticker that says, “I know how you feel, I just don’t care.”  That’s the way most people in the world are and sadly, many in the church seem to be uncaring as well.  But we can be sure that our Father in Heaven knows, cares, and is willing to help.  Our part is to do as Hebrews 4:16 says, “ Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Becca Roach Kaminski started singing as soon as she could talk.  She performed her first solo at age 18 months with the song, “He’s Still Working On Me.”  At age 5 she began to sing harmony naturally.  She could just hear the part.

Becca always took part in ministry in the churches where her parents pastored and evangelized.  At age 14, she became the youngest ever registered song evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene.

At age 16 she was featured on the “Live Gathering” Video Shoot in Indianapolis, IN.  This was a “Gaither Style” Video performed by Evangelists and Song Evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene.

Becca graduated High School at Madison Nazarene Christian School in 2002. That fall she enrolled in College at Trevecca Nazarene University and studied Music Education and Performance.  In 2003, she continues her studies at Jackson State Community college, Jackson, Tn and was a National Honor Student.

When it comes to singing, Becca is not shy in front of an audience.  She has shared the stage with many professional artists across the country and appeared on T.V. programs and other videos.

Becca has a single released to radio now called, “Jesus Has Me Now.”  We invite you to go to http://www.myspace.com/runawayhomeministries  and have a listen.  Read the blogs and get to know Becca.

She has a desire to share her testimony of God’s healing for herself and her family through the hardest time in their lives.
